Starting in late March of 2019, I was dropped off at the Mexico border in the New Mexico bootheel. This was my first long distance backpacking trip. I would ultimately finish ~600 miles spanning the entire state before being confronted with deep snow and perilous mountains in Colorado.

Just after New Years 2020, we drove from Dallas to Big Bend National Park and stayed at the Terlingua Ranch before setting off on a multi-day backpacking trip along the Outer Mountain Loop trail. Fate would have different plans, but that just made the trip all the more interesting!
